Ethiopian Virtual Airlines (vETH) is a non-profit flight simulation community, inspired by Ethiopian Airlines. Our website is accessible at www.ethiopianvirtualairlines.com.

2. Data we collect

When you register and use the vETH Pilot Portal, we collect and store the following data:

• Registration — Your first name, last name, email address and encrypted password
• Network identifiers — Your VATSIM, IVAO or SayIntentions identifiers (optional)
• Flight activity — Your PIREPs, logbook entries, bookings, rank and statistics
• Safety reports — Any ASR reports you submit during operations
• Session data — A secure token stored in your browser to maintain your login

3. Purpose of data collection

This data is used exclusively to:

• Create and manage your vETH pilot account and callsign
• Display your profile, logbook and statistics in the Pilot Portal
• Allow you to book flights and file PIREPs
• Display your rank and career progression
• Personalize your experience on the site (displaying your first name in the navbar)
• Contact you in the context of managing your pilot career within vETH (activity reminders, account status updates, important community announcements). This data is never used for commercial solicitation purposes.

4. Data retention

Your pilot data is stored in our secure database hosted on Hostinger (EU servers). A session token is kept in your browser (localStorage) to maintain your login. Logging out clears this local token. You may request full deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting us.

5. Data sharing

We do not share, sell or transmit any personal data to third parties. Your data is managed exclusively within the vETH infrastructure (phpVMS platform). Flight statistics displayed publicly on the site (rank, hours, callsign) are limited to what is expected in the context of a virtual airline community.

6. Your rights

In accordance with GDPR, you have the following rights:

• Right of access to your data
• Right of rectification — contact an administrator or update your profile
• Right to erasure — contact us to delete your vETH account and all associated data
• Right to data portability — your logbook is available for export from your Pilot Portal

7. Cookies

The site uses only a session cookie to maintain your login. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
